Participate in our annual sandcastle contest in-person at Gimli Beach during festival weekend OR in the virtual sandcastle contest category. Prizes will be awarded for each category. Bring your shovels, pails, creativity, and participate in this free and fun event.

Rules

• If parents wish to direct children's activities, please enter the family category.
• Structure must be made of sand, but implements may be used to build it.
• Structures / Sculptures can be decorated with accessories (natural or artificial).
• Any colouring used must be environmentally friendly (i.e. Food colouring spray, coloured rice, etc)
• NO SPRAY PAINT ALLOWED

Judging is based on the following elements

• Size
• Sculpting
• Originality
• Accessories
• Overall effect (if the structure is 3-dimensional, etc.)

Categories

Open to everyone. You may enter as a single participant or as a team in one of the following categories.  

• Pink Category (11 years of age and under)
• Blue Category (12-15 years of age)
• Yellow Category (Family - 16 years of age and older or a family group)
• Open Competitive Category (Any age combination welcome)
• Virtual Category (Submission virtually - click for virtual category details and submission)
