Now Hiring an Executive Director

The Icelandic Festival of Manitoba (IFM) is seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing individual for the position of Executive Director. Flexible full-time hours required. The successful candidate will be expected to work from the festival office during the summer months and maintain a weekly presence there during the off-season. 

The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the IFM including managing staff, promoting the Festival, fundraising and stewarding donors. The Executive Director will represent the organization externally as required by the IFM Board of Directors. He/she is the main liaison for the board, members and staff, and will work collaboratively these groups and other stakeholders to implement and evaluate all IFM activities and events. 

The chosen candidate will demonstrate the following competencies: 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills  

• Excellent interpersonal skills 

• Strong time management and organizational abilities 

• Proficient in various computer applications on both Mac and PC platforms, including, but not limited to, MS Office, Outlook and QuickBooks 

• Able to delegate tasks appropriately  

• Self-starter who is able to meet demanding deadlines  

• Maintain professional confidentiality 

• Experience with fundraising and relationship management 

• Coordinate and take minutes of Board meetings 

• Develop and update policies and bylaws 

• Identify new sponsor and partner opportunities  

• Work with Board Committees  

• Liaise with landscape architects and Board members during creation of Viking Park
